What is a budget? It is a plan to help you manage your money. A basic budget will include how much money you have coming in (salary) and what where you plan to spend the money on. If you spend less that what you earn then you are able to save some of this money for the future. The general goal is not to spend more than you planned for in the budget.

There are multiple ways to create a budget, however they all fall into 1 of 2 categories. Type 1 is budget from building it from existing data. Type 2 is budget building from what you want to spend money on, based on your own experience. If you have the data (eg bank statements and cash receipts) then try the 1st approach, its likely to be more accurate. If you do not have hard data then try 2nd approach whilst gaining data.
